Within the last five years of its inception, Chicken Republic, a brand of Food Concept and Entertainment Plc continues to spread like wild fire across the nation. Chicken Republic, the fastest growing chicken franchise in Sub Saharan Africa keeps delighting its esteemed customers by opening up additional Quick Serve Restaurant (QSR) outlets in strategic locations across the nation.

Chicken Republic has celebrated several landmarks in its growth and operations over the years; and is about to formally celebrate the addition of another feather to its cap. Having successfully commenced operations in 2001 with Chicken Licken, Apapa, a franchise from South Africa, Chicken Republic launched its first restaurant, on 4th August 2004 at Sea Petroleum and Gas (SPG) Filling Station, Lekki. The Bode Thomas outlet came rapidly on the heels of these earlier successes.

Mrs Adebola Olomo, the Marketing Manager shared with us that today, Thursday, 27th of August, 2009, Chicken Republic will celebrate another moment in history. In a symbolic event to commemorate its achievement of OVER 50 operational outlets, Chicken Republic will be opening its Ligali Ayorinde, Victoria Island, Lagos restaurant in grand style. The management of Food Concept has described the event as an opportunity to formally take a look back and celebrate its growth as the fastest growing QSR franchise in Sub Saharan Africa.

In a bid to commemorate this notable landmark in the history of its operation, Chicken Republic has invited eminent personalities to grace and witness the occasion. The MD of FBN capital, Mr. Bayo Adeleke will be officially declaring the store open while His Royal Highness, Oba Idowu Oniru of Oniru among other notable dignitaries will be in attendance.

Chicken Republic has definitely set for itself the target of being the nation’s most popular and customer focused Quick Serve Restaurant. As consumers have come to expect distinction of this trail blazer in the industry, we can definitely start looking forward to the celebration of the opening of its 100th restaurant in the very near future.

On Saturday, the 10th of October 2009, Chicken Republic added another dimension to its service with the launch of Republic Kids at its Adeola Odeku outlet in Victoria Island. Speaking at the launch, the Marketing and PR Manager of Chicken Republic, Mrs. Debola Olomo, stated that the initiative is part of an on-going drive to ensure that Chicken Republic becomes the preferred choice for families, either as a group or individually.

The Republic Kids section of the store provides not only space that emerging citizens of the Republic can call their own, but also offers different play options and equipment that will excite kids. One of the key benefits of the Republic Kids section is that it can also be booked for birthday parties by parents who want their kids to have a rewarding and memorable experience..

The Marketing Manager further stressed that the launch of the Chicken Republic Adeola Odeku children’s section is the first of many to come, with the next stop being the Chicken Republic store at the SPG filling station in Lekki.

Chicken republic is definitely committed to giving its customers a delightful experience and has set for itself the target to be the nation’s most customer centric Quick serve Restaurant. It’s all about giving the customers and their children a wonderful experience.

The Standard Organisation of Nigeria has issued an ISO Quality Award Certificate to FOOD CONCEPTS & ENTERTAINMENT PLC; making it the first fast food owned and managed company to be certified in the fast food sub – sector of the Food and Beverages industry. Food Concepts PLC has been confirmed appropriate to operate after scrutiny through all quality control processes as required by the regulatory body.

The ISO certificate was issued to the Organisation on May 25, 2009. MD/CEO of Food Concepts & entertainment PLC led his team to a formal public presentation of the certificate in an event that had in attendance Dr. John Ndanusa Akanya (OON), the Director General of SON amongst other distinguished guests.

This feat precedes the private placement conclusion of FOOD CONCEPTS & ENTERTAINMENT PLC confirming its Public Liability Company status on July 9 2008, a major step for the Organisation which has established itself as master brand over popular food brands as Chicken Republic and Butterfield bakery; with a network of branches across commercial cities in Nigeria.

Food Concepts and entertainment PLC was set up in 2001 with the objective of surpassing daily need standards for the upwardly mobile and constantly evolving individual through homemade consumer products and has since built a reputation as the pioneer and leading food court brand in Nigeria.

The company has expanded its existing branch networks with a recently opened Chicken Republic outlet in South Africa in less than a decade and has positioned itself to deliver excellent “satisfaction” in consumer goods; in line with SON’s drive to rid the environment of sub-standard products.
